Sr. Jodi Min in Awards

For 34 years, Catholic Extension has presented the Lumen Christi Award to an individual who best exemplifies the Light of Christ through his or her service to people in Catholic communities of faith.  After a national search and deliberation, it was announced that the 2011 Lumen Christi Award will be presented to Sr. Gabriella Williams, OP, of the Diocese of San Bernardino for her vital ministry in the Coachella Valley.

Catholic Extension will bestow two $25,000 grants—one for Sr. Gabi and one for the Diocese of San Bernadino—offering ongoing support to her powerful work.  Catholic Extension is a national fundraising organization committed to supporting and strengthening under-resourced Catholic communities across the country.

The Most Reverend Gerald R. Barnes, Bishop of the Diocese of San Bernardino, and Reverend John J. Wall, President of Catholic Extension, will host the award presentation on Wednesday, September 21st, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Indio, California.  Congratulations, Sr. Gabi.  We are so proud of you!
